Biography

Ina Roy (Roy-Faderman) reads and writes poetry and fiction. She also speaks on and writes about intersections between medicine, biology, philosophy, and literature.

She is a first generation Bengali-American, born in Nebraska and residing permanently in northern California with her spouse, child, and a number of other mammals. Educated at Stanford (AB, AM, MD) and UCBerkeley (PhD), she teaches biomedical ethics and philosophy of science and serves as an assistant poetry editor at Right Hand Pointing. In addition, she serves on the board of Writers Rising Up and as the chair of the Poetry Postcard Fest project board
